Meredith d'Ambrosio is
a renaissance woman who has won international
critical acclaim and successfully combined careers
in the visual and musical arts. She continues
to delight those who have come to expect such
a high degree of proficiency in her artistic offerings.
Her water colors, black pencil studies, and egg
shell mosaics grace the covers of cds, magazines,
and books. She has shown herself to be, if not
an iconoclast, then at least someone who is comfortable
enough with her own sense of self to challenge
the mainstream concept of popularity without sacrificing
her considerable talent. Her distinctive style
is a refreshing change from the more conventional
offerings of her contemporaries. As she continues
to touch the world with her impressionistic brush
strokes, one can be sure that the creativity of
Meredith d'Ambrosio will bring enjoyment to those
discerning enough to appreciate a talent which
successfully combines artistry and rhythm.
Her eggshell mosaics, a technique d'Ambrosio developed
in 1959, were included in the book Making Mosaics
by Beatrice Freeman-Lewis, Drake Publishers, N.Y.
In 1981 Boston's prestigious Copley Society awarded
Meredith a Copley Master for Life.
A video documentary produced in Collias, France
entitled Meredith d'Ambrosio portrays her as a
musician, composer, watercolorist, and eggshell
mosaicist, and was released internationally in
1988.
